Blue Valentine

Does Ryan Gosling only play incredibly cool guys or pathetic cuckolds, with nothing in between? This falls under the latter. I am finding it hard to enjoy movies depicting toxic relationships, such as this one. Can’t really empathize with either of the main characters when I am thinking “Yep, you should leave” for both of them every other scene.
