Great movie! I have the feeling it signals a cultural change – it was in my impression more positive on religion and on a father figure than would be ‘acceptable’ for a hip, indie movie to be 10 years ago. The aunt’s veneer of intolerance falling apart without her even acknowledging or noticing it much reminded me of the Sydney Sweeney interview that went viral following the jeans/genes controversy some time back – the modern left-wing tendency to fail to acknowledge their worldview is also a worldview.
